We are pleased to announce that Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia in collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Konsorsium Biologi Indonesia (KOBI) will be organizing the following conference:

The 8th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES (ICBS) 2023 “Leveraging Biodiversity to Support Green Economy and Climate Resilience”

The conference will be held for two days and will be opened by the Minister of State Secretary Indonesia, Prof Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc.*. The conference will consist of plenary, oral, and poster sessions. The plenary sessions will consist of presentations from a number of keynote speakers and invited speakers from both international and national.

Below is the list of keynote speaker and invited speakers:

1. Prof. Dr. Michael Sauer (BOKU University, Vienna)
2. Prof. Dr. Satyawan Pudyatmoko ((Director General of Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia)*

Furthermore, oral presentations for each topic will take place in parallel rooms. Meanwhile, poster sessions will be scheduled during the conference. All sessions will be conducted in English. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed based on originality, technical quality, and their presentation. The organizing committee will produce an electronic proceeding containing all accompanying papers of the accepted oral and poster presentations. The proceedings will be published in Proceedings BIO Web Conference will be indexed by Scopus (if applicable).

International participants from various backgrounds (academia, industry, NGO, or government) are welcomed to join.

This conference provides a platform for international researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and related communities to discuss, share, and exchange their latest research, current cases, reviews, and experiential advancements related to the field of geological engineering and geosciences.

Theme of ICGoES 2023: “Innovating the Future: Navigating the Intersection of Geology and Technology”

Venue: ICGoES 2023 will be held in a hybrid format, both online and onsite at the Prof. Rooseeno Soerjohadikoesoemo Building, Smart and Green Learning Center (SGLC), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The 2023 Annual Convention on the Global South (GO-SOUTH)

The Institute of International Studies (IIS), Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada, is pleased to announce “The 2023 Annual Convention on the Global South (GO-SOUTH).” Initiated in 2015 through the “Beyond Bandung Conference,” IIS is dedicated to advancing the study of dynamics within Southern nations. The convention’s theme for this year is “Decentering Indo-Pacific: Global South in a Changing World.”

Scheduled for November 6-8, 2023, the convention is divided into two parts: 1) Expert Seminars and Panels, and 2) Participant Presentation Panels. The aim of this convention is to comprehensively examine the dynamics of the Indo-Pacific, not only through the geopolitical lens of global powerhouses, but also by focusing on actors from the Global South, particularly within the Indo-Pacific region. We extend an invitation to experts, practitioners, and academics, both domestic and international, who share an interest and concern for this theme.

Held as part of the Universitas Gadjah Mada Annual Scientific Conferences (UASC 2023) series, the 5^th International Conference on Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering (BioMIC 2023) provides an ideal academic platform for researchers to present the latest research findings and describe emerging technologies and directions in bioinformatics, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering.

This year, the conference will take the theme “Accelerating translational healthcare by leveraging big data and machine learning” with five symposia: Big Data for Public Health Policy symposium; Bioinformatics and Data Mining symposium; Biomedical Sciences and Engineering symposium; Biomolecular and Biotechnology symposium; and Drug Development and Nutraceutical symposium.

BioMIC 2023 receives manuscripts of original research, review article, and case report.

The accepted and presented papers will be submitted for possible inclusion to journals/proceedings that are indexed by Scopus/Clarivate Analytics/DOAJ.

The 5th Indonesia Tuberculosis International Meeting (INA-TIME)

We are pleased to announce the 5th Indonesia Tuberculosis International Meeting (INA-TIME), hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada. With the optimism of “Stepping up research to end TB, Together we can!”, this conference will provide a platform for experts, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to share their experiences, ideas, and best practices for preventing and treating tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia.

Ultimately, the INA-TIME conference aims to encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders in TB research and management. By focusing on the latest research, best practices, and innovative approaches to TB prevention and treatment, the conference hopes to contribute to the global effort to end TB.

Call for abstracts
Theme:
1. TB prevention: This topic will address the innovative strategies for preventing the spread of TB, including identifying high-risk populations, implementing effective measures for infection control, and TB education, communication, and counseling strategies.
2. Clinical management of TB: Including but not limited to TB treatment, development new drugs and diagnostics, as well as the challenges of managing drug-resistant TB and co-infections with other diseases.
3. TB and comorbidities: This topic will examine the linkages between TB and other non-communicable diseases, including mental health, nutrition, tobacco, and diabetes mellitus. Exploring the impact of these comorbidities on TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and the best approaches for managing patients with multiple conditions.

“Call for Crowdsourcing for TB Elimination: Overcoming Challenges with Innovative Solutions”

We are searching for implemented solutions that enhance the healthcare delivery in the context of tuberculosis, including public health programs, startups, research initiatives, social entrepreneurship endeavors, and grassroots movements. However, it’s important to note that our focus does not include technology advancements or the development of new drugs.
